6 Best ROOK API Alternatives in 2026
ROOK publishes its prices more openly than most of this category, which makes it easy to see what the entry tier actually includes. The alternatives below matter when you want scoring, granular data and webhooks in the base price rather than as separate line items, or when a seven-day backfill window is too short.

The $399 tier is rarely $399
ROOK Core lists at $399 per month for 750 active users, and that number is real. What it buys is normalized summary data.
The capabilities most teams assume are included are priced separately on Core: ROOKScore at $249 per month, granular rather than summary data at $249, notification webhooks at $99, and vendor-proprietary metrics such as Oura Readiness at $149. A team wanting scoring, granular data and webhooks is at $996 per month, not $399. Their Core+ tier at $999 includes three add-ons of your choice, so ROOKScore can come free there, which is worth knowing before assuming the worst.
Two other constraints shape the decision. Backfill is up to 7 days for API sources and 29 for mobile SDK sources, disabled by default in production, which is short if you need history at signup. And Dexcom, Samsung Health, Strava and Whoop require you to register your own developer accounts with those providers, which ROOK notes can take several weeks.
None of this makes ROOK a bad choice. It makes it a choice you should price out properly first, which their published rates actually let you do.

ROOK alternatives, answered
What does ROOK actually cost with scoring included?
On the Core tier at $399 per month, ROOKScore is a $249 per month add-on, so $648. Adding granular data at $249 and notification webhooks at $99 takes it to $996. On Core+ at $999 per month you get three add-ons of your choice included, so ROOKScore can come at no extra cost there. All of these figures are published on ROOK’s own pricing page.
Is ROOK’s seven-day backfill a problem?
It depends whether your product needs history at signup. Seven days for API sources and 29 for mobile SDK sources is short compared with Oura and WHOOP at 180 days through Junction, or Sahha’s 30 days at connect. If your onboarding experience shows a user their last month, seven days will not fill it. It is also disabled by default in production and sold as an on-demand feature.
Does ROOK have SOC 2?
Their compliance page lists HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA and CPRA, and states FHIR is an Enterprise tier feature. SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, HITRUST and data residency are not mentioned on it as of July 2026. That is an absence of a claim rather than a statement that they lack it, so ask them directly if it matters to your procurement.
What does ROOK do better than the alternatives?
Three things genuinely. Eight direct cloud APIs including Dexcom for CGM, so data flows with no app installed. Unusually transparent pricing, which is what makes the arithmetic above possible at all. And broad framework SDK coverage including Flutter, React Native and Capacitor.
